I Feel So Lucky
You could not blame others if they go superstitious with their gambling games. After all, a little luck here and there would not hurt, right? Especially if this luck will help you win gambling games.
Some believe in lucky items, while others believe in superstitious rituals that supposedly increase their luck in gambling.
What are these superstitions? Are you familiar with any of them?
A common type of gambling superstition is bringing a lucky item to the gambling house. Some superstitious gambling players keep a four leaf clover in their wallets and never fail to bring it on their gambling games.
A four-leaf clover is hard to find, that is why even just finding it is considered lucky already. Because of this, when people find a four-leaf clover, they usually keep it for future use. They say four-leaf clovers bring luck to gambling players because this leaf is associated with leprechauns, which by the way are creatures often imagined to have pots of gold.
Other lucky items superstitious gambling players choose to bring are rabbit's foot and horse shoe. If you do not have any of these lucky items, you may designate an item of yours to be your lucky charm. When you are wearing your favorite necklace to a gambling game, and you won, then you may use it again and consider it your lucky charm in gambling.
Speaking of something to wear, superstitious gambling players also put a lot of thought into what they will wear to their gambling session. They believe that the items they wear can also bring them luck, like a red shirt for example. Red is universally considered to be a lucky color, but you may divert from this. You may choose any of your shirts to be your lucky shirt, even if it is colored purple.
Others do not have a lucky shirt. They just dress to the nines (meaning: dressing well), if they are going to a gambling house. It is also believed to bring some sort of luck to the gambling player if he or she is wearing his or her best clothes.
Instead of bringing lucky items to the gambling session, others rely on rituals. Some of the common gambling rituals that supposedly bring luck are blowing of the dice before throwing it, and arranging the chips in an orderly manner. Some cross their fingers, which is a complicated ritual, because you can cross your fingers if you do not want a thing to happen, and you can also do the same if you want something to happen. I guess it depends on the gambling player.
